Elizabeth and her daughter Cecile spend their holidays at a lakeside resort in the French mountains. Elizabeth falls in love with a strange Italian, Giovanni, while young Cecile is courted by an apprentice cook. It seems that mother and daughter are drifting apart from each other, but then their holidays are over.

The Judge and the Assassin (1976)
France, 1893. Joseph Bouvier attempts to shoot his love who refused to marry him and to commit suicide. Upon release from the filthy asylum where he was placed, with bullets still remaining in his head, he wanders the country roads and rapes and murders many teenagers over years. The judge Rousseau captures him, but to serve his ambition seeks to avoid that Bouvier is simply declared insane.

Fatti di gente perbene (1974)
Based on a true incident, this tells the story of a troubled young man who kills his sister’s reactionary, violent and abusive husband and is eventually arrested for the murder. However, the dead husband happened to be a member of the Italian nobility, and the trial starts to turn into more of a prosecution of the defendant’s socialist politics and the activities of his father, a well known liberal social reformer, than the actual crime itself.

The body of a young woman is discovered near a farm. The judge Larcher is in charge and thinks that the farmers (Rose and Pierre) have a link with the murder.
