Billy and His Pal (1911)
Billy and His Pal, released on February 16, 1911, is about a cowboy, Jim (Francis Ford), who is idolised by young Billy (actress Edith Storey in drag). When Jim runs afoul of a gang of Mexican thieves, it’s up to Billy to rescue his hero. Billy and His Pal is short on plot but long on local atmosphere with the director (probably William Haddock) and cameraman William “Daddy” Paley making the most of the starkly beautiful Texas countryside.
The Smuggler (1912)
The story revolves around a smuggler (René Navarre) who rescues a young lady trapped in the canyon. Some rock-climbing shots at the beginning of the film.
The Heart of an Indian (1912)
When Indians attack a white settlement, a brave kidnaps a white baby to give to his wife as a replacement for their dead baby. The white mother goes to the Indian camp to look for her child and is captured by the Indians who plan to torture her. The settlers attack the Indian camp, destroying it completely and killing the braves, while the Indian wife returns the baby to the white woman and allows her to escape. The Indian wife mourns her baby at its grave, unaware of the destruction of the Indian camp.
The Bandit of Point Loma (1912)
A hunted bandit cleverly outwits the sheriff after a thrilling chase over rocks and sandhills. Reaching the Point Loma Lighthouse, he introduces himself as a revenue man to the lighthouse keeper and his daughter.
The Man from Texas (1915)
A cowboy gets a message that his sister’s husband has left her and she is in trouble. When he gets there, he finds her dead. He sets out to track down the husband.
The Pilgrim (1916)
Short western by Frank Borzage about a man called The Pilgrim who comes into a new town, establishes himself and falls in love with a woman.
Nugget Jim’s Pardner (1916)
Nugget Jim’s pardner (Borzage), is an easy-come-easy-go character, an heirling who has worn through the last of pater’s patience, eaten through his allowance of allowances. Off he pops, after one last drunken hurrah, to makes his living way out west. He teams up with a prospector and his daughter and they develop a happy family situation.

Golden Rule Kate (1917)
The setting is the Old West town of Paradise, Nevada, where a young woman, Mercedes Murphy (played by Louise Glaum), co-owns and operates a combination saloon and dance hall called the Red Hen with her business partner, Slick Barney (played by Jack Richardson). Her little half-sister, Olive “Live” Sumner (played by Mildred Harris), who is crippled, lives with her and she makes every effort to protect the child. A tough, but good-hearted businesswoman, Mercedes shows a tender side at home with Live. Her partner, Slick, and a cowboy called the Heller (played by John Gilbert), who has a heart of gold, are both interested in Live.

A Western involving William S Hart as an outlaw who comes to the aid of a preacher in a small town through his infatuation with the preacher’s wife. Rarely screened but considered one of his best; the version at the Library of Congress is missing one of the middle reels.
