    The story takes place during the weeks before Christmas, in the small mining town of fictitious Granhyttan in Bergslagen, Sweden. One day a suspicious couple, Signe and Orvar, arrives in the small town and retires in an abandoned hut. Nobody knows what they up to; but strange things starts to happen as Staffan finds a gold nugget while playing in a disused mine at the Kråkberget Mountain during a skiing trip with his schoolmates. Staffan believes the nugget is a part of Skarp-Erik’s gold, as his grandpa had told exciting stories about. The news about the gold discovery spread quickly and Staffan and his friends are soon pursued by curious schoolmates, school staff and also the mysterious strangers. All this happens as the students are rehearsing for the nativity play before Christmas break.

    Babar and the Adventures of Badou is a 3D animated children’s TV series that premiered in 2010 based on the characters created by Jean and Laurent de Brunhoff. The series has created new characters to the Babar universe, including Badou, who is Babar’s 8-year-old grandson and the central character of the series. The series is co-produced by Nelvana and TeamTO in association with The Clifford Ross Company, TF1, YTV, and LuxAnimation.

    The English version of the twenty-six episode series first premiered on September 6, 2010 in Australia on ABC2 and in Canada on YTV on Monday, November 22, 2010. Vice President and Managing Director of Jumbo Pictures, and Nelvana Enterprises, Colin Bohm explained “Nelvana is excited to bring Babar into the 21st century with a new 3D TV series as well as a comprehensive licensing program from TF1”. On September 16, 2010, Nelvana Enterprises has confirmed that the series will premiere in the U.S. on Disney Junior. The show premiered on February 14, 2011, along with the premiere of the television block.

    Although the series features a majority of new characters to the Babar universe, original characters remain though, such as Babar, Celeste and Lord Rataxes, with other original characters also involved.

    NileCity 105,6 was a Swedish 6-part television show broadcast by SVT in 1995. It was the first major success of Swedish comedy group Killinggänget. Each episode was titled “Vuxna män gör saker tillsammans”.

    Set in Stockholm, the show revolves around the low-budget radio station NileCity 105,6 and its staff as well as a number of related characters. It is owned and run by Percy Nilegård who rents a few rooms in a firestation. The station is not very popular, and in the first episode it is actually said to be broadcast on AM radio instead of FM.

    Primary characters include

    ⁕Glenn Killing – The main host of NileCity. He mainly plays the straight man to his outlandish guests

    ⁕Percy Nilegård – The greedy owner who tries to turn a profit in spite of the stations very low ratings. To this end he runs a number of dubious schemes such as airing advertisements for companies and asking them for payments afterwards, a concept which he calls “marketing by not asking any questions first”.

    ⁕Veiron – A stereotype of a socialist blue collar worker from Gothenburg. He hosts his own show where he pesters people trying to sleep. His show airs at 3:30 AM and he arrives at the studio during the night in a forklift. This is the first show of the day but in the context of the series it caps off each episode, with Veiron’s monologue blending into the credits.

The script for the series was written by Astrid Lindgren, who later re-wrote it as a book, also titled Vi på Saltkråkan. Astrid Lindgren was closely involved in the filming and editing of the series, which took place on Norröra in the Stockholm archipelago. The series was produced and directed by Olle Hellbom.
