    Irish contractor McFadden and Scottish barber McTavish become fast friends, and McTavish’s son Jock, meets and falls in love with McFadden’s daughter Mary Ellen. McFadden also provokes frequent outbursts from McTavish, whose outlook on life is the antithesis of his own.
