Summer for Bureaucrats
It is 1956, and Japan has officially declared the “post-war” period over. In the decade or so that will follow, the country will grow to be the second largest economy in the world. But what was the driving force behind this economic miracle? This drama depicts the intense drama and battles played out among Japan’s leading bureaucrats in the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, focusing on Shingo Kazakoshi, the man dubbed “Mr. MITI” who selflessly and utterly devoted himself to his country’s industrial development.

Always Smiling
Yumi, a 23-year-old office worker, is fired from her job out of the blue. A few days later, coming from a friend’s wedding and having no time to change out of her kimono, she is rushing to an interview for a job at a publishing company. Yumi stumbles into the room, looking for somewhere to change out of her kimono, and finds popular comic book writer Reijiro Sakurai is having an editorial meeting with some staff. He is planning to lock himself away at a hot spring for the next three months to concentrate on his next project. Sakurai comments that if Yumi were to join him he wouldn’t mind being away for so long…, and so their adventure begins.

25-year-old Grandpa
46 years ago Kurihara Minoru (Fujiwara Tatsuya) went to the mountains to take pictures, but never returned. Fast forward to the present and he is discovered perfectly preserved in ice. He then miraculously wakes up.
The head of the Kurihara household is now Kurihara Norihiko (Takahashi Katsumi), who is Minoru’s son and 52 years old. Their is also Minoru’s grandson Kensuke (Daito Shunsuke) and granddaughter Mai (Kurashina Kana). Their family is set for upheaval as their grandfather (who still looks 25, but is now 71) returns to their home.
At first Minoru can’t act comfortably around his family, but as Minoru gets used to the change of times, their family comes around

Although he believes that the law isn’t always right, he becomes an administrative scrivener with the goal of manipulating the law in order to protect the weak. On the other hand, Sumiyoshi Misuzu, a former delinquent who hates to lose and who is now a capable scrivener. One day, he receives an entrance guide to Otona Koukou.
