Match of the Day
PKR 0 – PKR 400Match of the Day is the BBC’s main football television programme. Typically, it is shown on BBC One on Saturday evenings during the English football season, showing highlights of the day’s matches in English football’s top division, the Premier League. It is one of the BBC’s longest-running shows, having been on air since 22 August 1964, though it has not always been aired regularly. The programme is broadcast from MediaCityUK in Salford Quays on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Greater Manchester.
MOTD is presented by former England captain Gary Lineker, who is usually joined by England teammate and former Newcastle United captain Alan Shearer and Liverpool and Scotland defender Alan Hansen as well as Mark Lawrenson. Over the years many famous and respected sports broadcasters have fine-tuned their skills on the programme, including Kenneth Wolstenholme, David Coleman, Barry Davies, John Motson, Jimmy Hill and Des Lynam.

The Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat
PKR 250A group of people are standing along the platform of a railway station in La Ciotat, waiting for a train. One is seen coming, at some distance, and eventually stops at the platform. Doors of the railway-cars open and attendants help passengers off and on. Popular legend has it that, when this film was shown, the first-night audience fled the café in terror, fearing being run over by the “approaching” train. This legend has since been identified as promotional embellishment, though there is evidence to suggest that people were astounded at the capabilities of the Lumières’ cinématographe.

The Rolling Stones: Gimme Shelter
PKR 250This documentary of the Rolling Stones’ 1969 US tour has become a legendary, harrowing symbol of the tragic demise of the “Peace and Love” era. After a successful tour across the US, the Rolling Stones gave a free December concert at Altamont Speedway in California with the Grateful Dead, Ike and Tina Turner, Jefferson Airplane, and the Flying Burrito Brothers. The band unwisely selected the Hells Angels to provide security, and the bikers resorted to violence to keep the stoned, restless, and often naked crowd in line. The result: dozens of injuries and the on-screen stabbing of a young black man (during “Sympathy for the Devil”) by one of the concert’s staff security. In a manipulative but effective move, the Maysles brothers filmed Mick Jagger in the editing room witnessing the on-camera murder for the first time. The film also works as a rock-and-roll document, capturing the band at their most relaxed, intoxicating, and electrifying.

Life in Loops (A Megacities RMX)
PKR 150Timo Novotny labels his new project an experimental music documentary film, in a remix of the celebrated film Megacities (1997), a visually refined essay on the hidden faces of several world “megacities” by leading Austrian documentarist Michael Glawogger. Novotny complements 30 % of material taken straight from the film (and re-edited) with 70 % as yet unseen footage in which he blends original shots unused by Glawogger with his own sequences (shot by Megacities cameraman Wolfgang Thaler) from Tokyo. Alongside the Japanese metropolis, Life in Loops takes us right into the atmosphere of Mexico City, New York, Moscow and Bombay. This electrifying combination of fascinating film images and an equally compelling soundtrack from Sofa Surfers sets us off on a stunning audiovisual adventure across the continents. The video follows this with the “Dream Team” (Jordan and his fellow NBA stars) gaining worldwide attention as they partake and dominate in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, and concludes with the Bulls’ championship ring ceremony in the fall of ’92
