Doctor in Trouble (1970)
PKR 250Dr. Burke is in love with Ophelia but doesn’t have time to propose to her as she leaves for a cruise to the Mediterranean. Also on board the cruise ship is an old school chum of Burke’s who plays ‘Dr.Dare’ in a very popular TV series and who women flock to. Burke decides to join the cruise, but is first apprehended as a stowaway, and then becomes the captain’s steward. For Burke, trying to talk to Ophelia is a hard enough task, but he meets some funny characters on board, such as a pools winner and a very stubborn captain.

Mayerling (1968)
PKR 250Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria (Omar Sharif) clashes with his father, Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria (James Mason), over implementing progressive policies for their country. Ava Gardner plays his mother Empress Elisabeth. Rudolf soon feels he is a man born at the wrong time in a country that does not realize the need for social reform. The Prince of Wales (James Robertson Justice), later to become Britain’s King Edward VII, provides comic relief. Rudolf finds refuge from a loveless marriage with Princess Stéphanie (Andréa Parisy) by taking a mistress, Baroness Maria Vetsera (Catherine Deneuve). Their untimely demise at Mayerling, the imperial family’s hunting lodge, is cloaked in mystery, but the film’s ending suggests the two lovers made a suicide pact when they decided they could not live in a world without love or prospects for peace.

Land of the Pharaohs (1955)
PKR 250In ancient Egypt the Pharaoh Khufu is obsessed with acquiring gold and plans to take it all with him into the “second life.” To this end he enlists the aid of Vashtar, an architect whose people are enslaved in Egypt. The deal: build a robbery-proof tomb and the enslaved people will be freed. During the years that the pyramid is being built a Cyprian princess becomes the pharaoh’s second wife, and she plots to prevent Khufu from taking his treasure with him when he dies .. as well as helping him make the journey early.
