Anthrax (2001)
$15.00When cattle mysteriously start dying of anthrax in a small Alberta ranching community, an RCMP officer tries to keep the peace as ranchers lay the blame on a local agricultural research center. A reporter encourages the angry ranchers – led by the Mountie’s mother-in-law – to stage a sit-in at the research center. When an eccentric old rancher dies after being exposed to a deadly strain of anthrax, the protesters are quarantined. No one notices that the reporter has disappeared – along with several vials of the deadly bacteria. The RCMP officer begins his own investigation, gleaning information from a U.S. government agent. He finds himself racing against time to recover the stolen anthrax.

It featured Michael Easton as Gus McClain, a man framed for the murder of his wife by his twin brother Booth Hubbard. Hubbard, whose existence had previously been unknown to McClain, committed several murders while assuming McClain’s identity, leaving Gus on the run from the FBI. The primary FBI investigator in the case was Terry Carter, whose partner was a victim of Hubbard. It featured Andrew Sikes as a recurring character trying to help McClain.
Due to low ratings, the show was canceled after one year.

Profit

The series was created by David Greenwalt and John McNamara, and stars Adrian Pasdar as the eponymous character Jim Profit. In February 2008, episodes began airing on Chiller in the USA. In October 2010, episodes began airing on CBS Action in Europe.
Considered by many to be ahead of its time, the show is a precursor to more recent edgy television shows that include The Sopranos, Nip/Tuck, Dexter, Breaking Bad, and The Shield. Subversive themes stemming from the amoral actions of the central character made the show uncomfortable and unfamiliar viewing for mainstream audiences and Fox network affiliates, which ultimately led to the demise of the series. TV Guide ranked it #4 on their 2013 list of 60 shows that were “Canceled Too Soon”, calling Profit “shockingly memorable”.
