    Nearly Famous

Nearly Famous is a television drama mini-series about a group of British teenagers at a top London school of the performing arts. It is shown in the UK and Ireland on E4. The show has been compared to other teen drama series such as The OC and Skins. The show debuted on E4 on 8 November 2007 and ended its run on the 13th of December 2007. It is filmed in Kent, England.

There are no plans to continue into a second series, but the series has been left open so that a second series could be made on demand. The series ends with Owen leaving school, and his devastated friends, after being kicked out.

Although it was virtually ignored, it gained a large fanbase between 13-20-year olds. It had many story lines which related well to this target market, including drinking, drugs, money, sex and virginity.

    Desperate Scousewives

    Desperate Scousewives

Desperate Scousewives was a British reality television series based in Liverpool. It premiered on E4 at 10:00pm on 28 November 2011. It ran for eight episodes before it was officially announced that the show had been cancelled due to stagnating ratings and a perceived lack of interest in cast members from viewers. The show gained favourable viewing figures for its first episode debuting with 500,000 viewers, 24% up on the E4 channel’s slot average. However, episodes for the rest of the series were regularly below this figure and outside of the E4 Top 10 weekly rankings.

The show’s name is a play on words of the American comedy-drama Desperate Housewives and was said to be “Liverpool’s answer to The Only Way Is Essex and Made in Chelsea”. Repeats began airing on 4Music from 26 April 2012, sparking speculation from cast members that it may be a test run to recommission a new series on 4Music instead of E4. However, E4 reaffirmed their decision several times about the show’s cancellation via their official Twitter page despite cast members continually claiming that a second series is in production.

Each segment of the show was a silly or bizarre contest. Members of the viewing audience were encouraged to bet with each other on the outcome of each segment.

The pseudo-Japanese characters seen on screen during the programme are meaningless.

    Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy

Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy is a British sketch television series written and directed by Noel Fielding and Nigel Coan. The series stars Fielding, his brother Michael Fielding, Tom Meeten, and Dolly Wells. Various guest stars also appear, including Rich Fulcher and Richard Ayoade, and it features numerous members of The Mighty Boosh. The first episode premiered on 26 January 2012 on E4. The music was written by Kasabian’s Sergio Pizzorno, a good friend of Fielding’s.

Together, Fielding and Barratt produced a series of stage shows, a radio series, and a television series between 1998 and 2008. Going their separate ways, Fielding became a team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks from 2009, and also began co-operating on a new sketch show with Coan. The show originally had the provisional title Noel Fielding: Boopus.

It is described on the Channel 4 website as “a psychedelic character based comedy show half filmed and half animated”.
