Worldly Desires (2005)
$15.00One of three films commissioned by the Jeonju International Film Festival in 2005. A couple escaped their family to look for a spiritual tree in the jungle. There is a song at night, a song that spoke about an innocent idea of love and a quest for happiness. Worldly Desires is an experimental project where I invited a filmmaker friend, Pimpaka Towira, to shoot the love story by day and the song by night. The story, Deep Red Bloody Night, was written by my assistant who wanted to reprise a forbidden love story in a more romantic time in the past. I picked a pop song, Will I be Lucky? to convey a sense of guiltless freedom one feels when being hit by love. The video is a little simulation of manners, dedicated to the memories of filmmaking in the jungle during the year 2001-2005. -Apichatpong Weerasethakul

In The Name of The Tiger (2005)
$15.00On a high mountain, there’s a town where a sculpture of a tiger’s head is located in a holy shrine. Local people go there to worship the idol and count on. The center of the town is ruled by Jayae and Laikhan, two leaders from two rival local tribes. While the two tribes are fighting for control of the town, the mountain suddenly collapses. In the ensuing chaos, a mysterious man appears from the town’s wreckage. The Shrine Watcher lies to everyone and says that the man who emerged from the wreckage is the man that Jayae had prayed would be sent by the tiger god. The man, Loatong, receives gold and trust from the town’s leaders. When he decides to help a girl from another tribe, Loatong becomes a target of both tribes.

Noo-hin is a good intentioned young lady who stumbles and bumbles throughout life leaving disaster in her wake. In her mind, she is always doing good deeds, feels somewhat unappreciated and is always wondering why she does not get what she deserves. The movie begins with Noo-hin creating little disasters in her hometown. Upon her decision to move to Bangkok for a better life, the townspeople rejoice in her leaving. She arrives in Bangkok and searches for a job. It is at this point in time where she becomes the housekeeper for kuhn Milk. The movie continues to introduce the audience and Noo-hin’s new employer to her good-hearted attempts at helping everyone around her, usually with disastrous results!

The Anthem (2006)
$15.00The Anthem is a celebration of filmmaking and the viewing experience. In Thailand, before every cinema film screening, there will be a Royal Anthem before the feature presentation. The purpose is to honour the King. It is one of the rituals imbedded in Thai society to give a blessing to something or someone before certain ceremonies. The Anthem presents a ‘Cinema Anthem’ that praises and blesses the approaching feature for each screening. This audio-visual purification process is performed by three old ladies. They also channel energy to the audience in order to give them a clear mind.

The Spiritual World (2007)

It’s been 15 years since she managed to escape from a mysterious ghost that kept following her. One day she meets a young doctor named Buud, who visits her with a purpose. Buud knows that Ming can contact to the dead, so he wants her to find the reason behind the death of his father. While his father’s death was recorded by the police as being suicide, he believes it was murder. The appearance of Buud brings back memories of the past, and now Ming must face a truth that is even more terrible. For now she is being stalked by that same lost soul who is far more dangerous than any Ghost she has met so far.
