    La Patrona is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by United States-based television network Telemundo Studios, Miami and Mexican Argos Comunicación. The telenovela is a remake of the Venezuelan telenovela La Dueña, written by José Ignacio Cabrujas.

    The name reflects a local term or slang in Mexico to address a person recognized as the main boss. However, the title is also a reflection of both the protagonist and the antagonist struggle to conquer power, authority and respect in a labor field traditionally deemed to be a man’s job.

    Dynamo: Magician Impossible

    Dynamo: Magician Impossible is a fly on the wall documentary series which follows the life of English magician/illusionist Steven Frayne, better known as Dynamo. The show is produced by Phil McIntyre Productions and Inner Circle Films for UKTV channel Watch and Universal Networks International. In 2012, the show was shortlisted at the 17th National Television Awards for Best Entertainment Programme but lost to Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

    The four-episode first series aired from 7 July 2011 until 28 July 2011, with a fifth episode on 28 December 2011. On 1 February 2012, Watch renewed Dynamo: Magician Impossible for a second and third series. The second series premiered on 5 July 2012 and lasted another four episodes, ending on 26 July 2012. The third series aired on 11 July 2013 and concluded on 1 August 2013.

    My Babysitter’s a Vampire is a 2011 Canadian television series, based on the television film of the same name. In Canada, the series premiered in French on Télétoon on February 28, 2011, in English on Teletoon on March 14, 2011, and on Disney Channel in the United States on June 27, 2011. The show was created by Fresh TV, creators of 6teen and Total Drama. The show follows Ethan Morgan, who, in the television film, learns that his babysitter Sarah is a vampire. In the film, he learns he is able to have visions and his best friend Benny Weir is a spellmaster. The series follows the three as they take on supernatural forces and have adventures, with occasional help from fellow vampires Rory and Erica, while dealing with the troubles of regular high school life.

    A second season was confirmed to start production in September 2011 and it first premiered on Disney Channel on June 29, 2012, it premiered on Teletoon September 6, 2012. Télétoon started featuring season 2 sneak-peak episodes on October 28, 2012 and premiered it on January 10, 2013. On September 18, 2013 Fresh TV Inc. said that there will be no season 3 as of now, but they are exploring a possible second movie.

    Slide is an Australian teen drama series which premiered on August 16, 2011 on the Fox8 subscription television channel. The series follows the lives and exploits of five teenagers making their way into adulthood in the city of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. FOX8 confirmed in February 2012 a second season was not commissioned.

    The series is multi platform and encourages the viewer to view extra content online via apps and social networking such as Facebook and Twitter. Webisodes of events that take place before and after episodes are also available on YouTube. The series is the second multi-platform scripted series on Australian television, after the ABC’s Fat Cow Motel in 2004.

    On August 16, 2012, the show premiered on the American cable network TeenNick.

    Canal de las Estrellas aired La Fuerza del Destino from March 14 to July 31, 2011 Univision had announced that La Fuerza del Destino would air on the network as part of the 2011-2012 programming schedule, and was broadcast from August 2 to December 26, 2011, with La que no podía amar replacing it in both countries. It was awarded”The Best Telenovela of 2012″ by Premios TVyNovelas.

    Univision promoted Cuando me enamoro for the United States audience, with the first promo shown on March 30, and was initially scheduled to air at 8pm central. A second promo confirmed an April 19 airing at 7pm central. The third promo aired on April 5, confirming a 7pm/6pm central on Univision, and aired from April 20, 2011 to January 6, 2012.

    La Reina del Sur is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by the United States television network Telemundo, in conjunction with the Antena 3 network and RTI Producciones. Based on a novel of the same name by Spanish author Arturo Pérez-Reverte, the drama depicts the rise of Teresa Mendoza, a young woman from Mexico who becomes the most powerful drug trafficker in southern Spain. Patricio Wills, the president of Telemundo Television Studios, was the executive producer. Though La Reina del Sur was nominated for Novela of the Year, Favorite Lead Actress, and Best Bad Luck Video, it won no awards.

    With a $10 million budget, La Reina del Sur was the most expensive telenovela ever produced by Telemundo. The program’s premiere on February 28, 2011, was the network’s highest rated premiere for a telenovela to date. The program frequently dominated its time slot, even over English language programming on other major U.S. networks.

    La Reina del Sur completed its 63 episode run on Telemundo and its 13 episode run on Antena 3 simultaneously on May 30, 2011. The final episode was the highest rated broadcast in Telemundo’s 19-year history, and beat all of the English language U.S. television networks to earn the number one slot in the 18-49 adult demographic. The program’s success spurred Telemundo to launch its first campaign to gain the series an Emmy Award nomination. A one-night special featuring several cast members aired on May 31, 2011, and marked the Telemundo debut of noted Latina television personality Cristina Saralegui.

In the United States, the telenovela debuted on 22 February 2010 at 9:00 pm on Univisión, again replacing Sortilegio. However, beginning on 26 April, the program was moved from prime time to the 12:00 midnight time slot.

    A pilot for an American version, entitled “Eva Adams”, was filmed for the Fox network starring James Van Der Beek. It was envisioned as a dramedy, in the vein of how Yo soy Betty la fea was adapted for American audiences as Ugly Betty, but wasn’t picked up for a regular series.
