Vol-au-vent (1996)
It’s Samantha’s big wedding day but her mother is making it miserable for her with a typical maternal conflict of interests. Her mother orders her the wrong flowers, the wrong type of make-up and wants to video the garden instead of the girls getting dressed. To top it off three thieves have crashed the party pretending to be video-assistants, the make-up artist gets drunk and the chauffeur has choked on a biscuit and died.

Sweeney 2 (1978)
The plot is set on a group of bank robbers, who are both violent and successful, strangely getting away each time with an amount around the £60,000 mark, and often leaving behind cash in excess of this sum. The robbers are willing to kill their own team, to get away. As Jack Regan himself puts it after the first raid in the film: “I’ve never seen so many dead people”. Armed with gold-plated Purdey shotguns, they evaded Regan and the Flying Squad for quite some time, before Regan finds encouragement from his Detective Chief Superintendent who was sent down for corruption because Jack wouldn’t testify in court for him.

In the early 1800’s, a group of fur trappers and Indian traders are returning with their goods to civilization and are making a desperate attempt to beat the oncoming winter. When guide Zachary Bass is injured in a bear attack, they decide he’s a goner and leave him behind to die. When he recovers instead, he swears revenge on them and tracks them and their paranoiac expedition leader down.

Ruth has everything. A large, warty body, a standard house in the suburbs, two whiney children, a dog, a cat and a guinea pig. She also has Bobo, her unfaithful accountant husband who resents her very existence. Bobo wants, and is wanted by, Mary Fisher. Mary Fisher lives in a lighthouse by the sea and writes about love. When Bobo leaves Ruth for the novelist, she decides that Mary Fisher doesn’t know the first thing about love. Ruth intends to teach her.
