Gold Diggers of 1937 (1936)
Stage-producer J.J. Horbart, is going to put on a new show, but he doesn’t know that his two partners lost the money at the stock market. Insurance salesman Rosmer Peck falls in love with ex chorus-girl Joan Blondell, who’s friend Genevieve tries to land on one of J.J Horbat’s partners. They come up with the idea to insure J.J. for $1 Million, to get the money back when he dies. Rosmer sells him the policy. After the insurance Company finds out that he’s only a hypochondriac, an attempt to kill him accidently fails, and Genevieve falls in love with J.J. But when J.J. is informed that he is putting on a show with no money he has a breakdown. The only possibility to restore his health is putting on the show, in spite of the lack of money.

Night Waitress (1936)
Helen Roberts, who’s on probation, goes back to work as a waitress at Torre’s Fish Palace, a San Francisco waterfront dive. The customers are low characters trying to make time with Helen and ex-rum runners trying to make a dishonest dollar. Some of the latter, including Helen’s unwelcome suitor Martin Rhodes, are after a mysterious, valuable hidden “cargo”; when violence erupts, Helen finds herself innocently involved, and is soon on the run from both cops and crooks.

Ten Laps to Go (1936)
Larry Evans (Rex Lease), champion race car driver, is envied by his chief rival, Eddie DeSylva (Duncan Renaldo), who has more ambitions than merely winning the races; he has designs on the motor patent held by Corbett (Tom Moore), Larry’s employer. Eddie also has a yen for Corbett’s daughter, Norma (Muriel Evans), who prefers Larry. Eddie intentionally causes a race wreck that injures Larry and sends him to the hospital.
