The Outriders (1950)

There is spy amongst them informing the Indians. They survive the first Indian attack and then push on. They have a choice of two passes through the mountains. Learing of the pass to be defended by the Indians, they head for the other. But upon ariving, the Indians attack. Somehow they have been informed.

Sons of New Mexico (1949)
$15.00Not quite as memorable as his previous Riders in the Sky, Gene Autry’s Sons of New Mexico is still well up to the star’s standard. This time, Gene tries to reform Randy Pryor, a would-be juvenile delinquent, played by Autry-protégé Dick Jones (who later starred in the Autry-produced TV series Range Rider and Buffalo Bill Jr). To this end, Pryor is enrolled at the New Mexico Military Institute, where much of this film was lensed. The kid chafes at the school’s regimen and escapes, heading back to his criminal mentor Pat Feeney (Robert Armstrong).

Donald “Red” Barry plays Dan Reilly, a newspaper reporter just returned to LA with his wife, photographer Margie (Marjorie Steele). Margie insists on taking pictures of everywhere they go, and so as she’s walking into a butcher shop she poses for Dan – while at the same time three thugs make their way quickly out after beating up the proprietors. Soon Margie and Dan are involved in investigating an illegal meat operation that rustles cattle and forces butchers to buy it – or else. Dan gets beaten up a couple of times, but is undaunted in pursuing the great story – and hey, he’s only got 64 minutes to do so, he’d best get cracking!
