The Dream of Nepenthes
Mifuyu is a high school student. Her mom suffers from a severe illness, which causes Mifuyu to spend most of her time taking care of her and doing housework. She doesn’t think about her future after high school. Mifuyu’s mom dies, her dad brings his girlfriend to their house and kicks Mifuyu out. Mifuyu goes to the home where her mom’s cousin lives, in a high-class residential area in Tokyo.

Diary
Miyata Ayaka (Renbutsu Misako), an office worker, sees her world collapse around her when her mother Miyata Harumi (Kikuchi Momoko) collapses due to illness and is left in a coma because of it. She then discovers that her mother kept a secret diary that she writes with her high school friends and that the lies she has told her have become evident, with nothing to lose. Ayaka will travel to Kaga, in Ishikawa Prefecture, her mother’s hometown, to try to clarify the truth of the lie in her mother’s secret diary.

Yuri goes to a female novelist and tells her that she and two of her friends committed three murders. Yuri asks the novelist to write a story about them.
Back when Yuri was a high school student, she lived in an apartment complex in the province. She was aware that her classmate Satoko was sexually assaulted by Satoko’s grandfather, but Yuri could not do anything about that and they became estranged. This hurt Yuri emotionally. Maho, from Tokyo, transferred to Yuri’s high school. Maho took everything seriously and this led her to not get along with the other students, but she became close with Yuri. They lived in the same apartment complex. One day, Maho was about to be attacked by someone holding a knife. Yuri tried to help Maho and this led to Yuri stabbing the attacker. The next day, Satoko was arrested.
