    A 17-year-old boy, known only as HIM, caught in the limbo between childhood and adulthood is also trapped in a limbo between the two homes of his divorced parents, each now remarried with new families. Like most boys he finds it hard to process his feelings so tends to “act out”. But his behaviour is also triggered by something else – his primal struggle to contain the terrifying secret of a supernatural power he inherited from his grandfather. A power that only his ageing grandmother understands, who urges him to use his gift only for ‘good’ for she knows if he doesn’t it could end in tragedy.

Produced by Shed Productions, the company behind Bad Girls, Footballers’ Wives and Waterloo Road, the 8-part series began airing on BBC One on 7 June 2009 and finished on 26 July 2009. After a single series, the BBC cancelled Hope Springs, because it “did not find its audience in the way that [they] had hoped.”

    Frankenstein is a 2004 U.S. television miniseries based on the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It follows the original book more closely than other adaptions.

    To date it is likely the most accurate film or mini-series adaptation of the novel. The mini-series was nominated for ASC award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in Movies of the Week/Mini-Series/Pilot. It was also nominated for an Artios award for Best Mini Series Casting.

    It won the 2005 Prime Time Emmy Award for Outstanding Makeup for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special.

    The miniseries was edited into a film. Its UK DVD is 170 minutes long, the Spanish Blu Ray is 180 minutes long, while the American DVD is 204 minutes long.
